Keeping your building’s pumps running

Every building depends on pumps — to push PUB water up to the tanks and taps, and to move rainwater and waste water out. When a pump fails, the whole building feels it. Waves Fluid Engineering Pte Ltd repairs, overhauls and maintains pumping systems across Singapore, so a breakdown becomes a quick fix instead of a crisis.

Whether you need a one-off repair, a full pump overhaul, a replacement, or a regular servicing contract, our competent field team diagnoses the root cause, advises the most cost-effective fix, and carries it out with genuine spare parts.

Repair & overhaul

Fault diagnosis, pump overhaul, mechanical seal and bearing replacement, coil rewinding and pump replacement — for every common pump brand and model.

Scheduled maintenance

Quarterly servicing of booster, transfer, ejector, sump and sprinkler pumps, with a condition checklist and early warning on parts that need replacing before they fail.

Signs your pump needs attention

Pumps rarely fail without warning. If you notice any of these, book a repair before a small fault becomes a full breakdown:

Noisy pump A humming or grinding noise usually means a worn bearing.
Water leaking from the pump Leakage at the shaft points to a failed mechanical seal.
Low or no water pressure Weak supply can mean a worn impeller, air lock or a failing pump.
Pump runs non-stop Continuous running often follows a faulty check valve or pressure switch.
Burning smell or tripping A burnt motor coil trips the supply and needs rewinding.
Excess vibration Heavy vibration usually means improper securing or misalignment.

Why pumps become faulty

Our team assesses the real root cause rather than just swapping parts. Common reasons a water pump fails include:

  • Dry run — the pump runs without incoming water
  • Continuous running from another component failing (e.g. a check valve)
  • Air lock inside the pump
  • Excessive vibration from improper securing
  • Improper usage of the pump
  • Blockage in the outgoing or supply line

Our pump repair services

We carry most brand and model spare parts in stock, which keeps repairs fast and downtime short.

Pump overhaul

Every pump opens, services and reinstalls differently. We collect the pump, bring it to our workshop, open it up, assess each part’s condition and quote before proceeding — backed by a large in-house stock of spares.

Mechanical seal replacement

The mechanical seal stops pressurised water leaking out and air getting in. We stock original seals for many brands and models to stop leaks with immediate effect.

Bearing replacement

“My pump is noisy” usually means a worn bearing. We hold many brand bearings in stock and replace the seal at the same time when needed, so the job is done once.

Motor coil rewinding

When water reaches the coil or the pump runs non-stop, the coil can burn out. We rewind coils for all motor types to the accuracy the pump needs to run properly.

Repair or replace — honest advice

Sometimes a new bearing and seal together can cost close to half the price of a new pump. When that happens we’ll tell you plainly that replacing the pump is the smarter choice — and quote you for that instead. You get an obligation-free recommendation either way.

Pumps we service & maintain

Our quarterly maintenance and repair covers each pump plus all its related components — pressure tank, pressure switch, pressure transmitter, check valve, gate valve and more.

Frequently asked questions

How often should a booster pump be serviced?

For most commercial, condo and HDB buildings we recommend quarterly servicing. Each visit checks the pump and its components — pressure tank, switch, transmitter, check and gate valves — and flags any parts that should be replaced before they cause a breakdown.

Why is my water pump noisy?

A humming or grinding noise is most often a worn bearing. We carry many brand and model bearings in stock and replace them quickly — and check the mechanical seal at the same time, since it can be affected during a bearing change.

My pump is leaking water — can you fix it?

Yes. Leakage at the pump shaft usually means the mechanical seal has failed. We stock original seals for many brands and models and can stop the leak with immediate effect once replaced.

Should I repair or replace my pump?

It depends on the fault. If a bearing and seal together approach half the cost of a new pump, replacing it is usually the better value. We assess the pump and give you an honest, obligation-free recommendation either way.

Do you cover condominiums, HDB and industrial buildings?

Yes — we service pumps islandwide across condos, HDB blocks, landed homes, commercial and industrial buildings, shopping complexes, hospitals and schools, typically anything above two storeys.

Do you handle emergency pump breakdowns?

Yes. A loss of water pressure can’t wait, so our support line is available 24×7. Call +65 94870446 and we’ll prioritise breakdowns that affect your building’s water supply.

What warranty do you give on pump repairs?

Up to one year on parts changed during servicing and maintenance, and six months on pump repair works (depending on the repair). All parts are genuine, from recognised manufacturers, subject to terms and conditions.
